How to Freeze Grapes

Enjoy frozen grapes as a sweet, nutritious treat

Have you ever tried freezing grapes? Frozen grapes are a refreshing, nutritious and sweet treat during those hot summer months. Plus, these perfect icy-pole substitutes are quick and easy to prepare. Here’s a simple guide on how to make frozen grapes with your favourite Sun World grapes.

How to Freeze Grapes Step 1

Directions:

  • Always Choose Seedless Grapes: purchase seedless grapes to avoid biting into a frozen seed. Thankfully, all of Sun World’s grape varieties are seedless – even the black grapes! You can learn more about the delicious seedless grapes we offer by visiting our Grapes page.

How to Freeze Grapes Step 2

  • Wash, Dry and De-Stem: place the grapes in a colander and rinse in cool, running water. After a thorough washing, let the excess water drain and dry the grapes by patting them gently with a clean tea towel. Remove each grape from their stems.

How to Freeze Grapes Step 3

  • Then Freeze!: place your clean, dry grapes on a baking tray lined with baking paper and pop into the freezer. Once completely frozen, place the grapes in a freezer bag and continue to store them in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy them. Freezing them on a baking tray (and not in a bag) means the grapes won’t clump together and will freeze more evenly.
